Description:

The American Performing Arts Collaborative (APAC), a 501-(c) (3) nonprofit organization, was established to develop, produce and present original theatrical works. The organization provides employment and educational services to youth and adults in the tri-state area.

The mission of APAC is:

  • To develop new, original theatrical productions, particularly those emphasizing multicultural, multi-ethnic, cross-generational, and cross-gender themes
  • To attract diverse audiences and encourage a broader range of community members to attend live theatrical events
  • To create the next generation of audiences, artists, and cultural innovators by developing and presenting live theatrical performances that will involve, interest, and inspire younger audiences
  • To make young people aware that there are non-performance-based career opportunities in dance and theater, and to broaden diversity in the greater New York theatrical community over the long term by offering young people apprenticeship opportunities and career guidance
  • Prepare our youth to compete and succeed in tomorrow's world, reclaim, restore, and rebuild our youth and community through exposure to live dance, music, art, theater, and the behind-the-scenes mastery that makes magic happen onstage
  • To apply a wide range of existing and emerging technologies to new, creative theatrical applications.
